Welcome to Lowrock Design, the personal web and graphic design portfolio site of Danny Kelly, based in Lexington, Kentucky featuring some of my web and graphic design work.
Lowrock Design is named in tribute to a type of deep, minimalist rock played by a band called Morphine, consisting only of bass, sax and drums.
I have been doing graphic design and designing web sites for nearly a decade, longer than many local web design agencies have been in business.
I work full-time for the Interactive Division of the Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com. I am responsible for the graphic design for various online products including several web sites, web graphics, Flash graphics, and html email campaigns.
My hourly rate for 2008 is $45 per hour, a very low rate for someone with my experience. I bill my clients monthly for the exact amount of hours I worked on their material that month.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my work.
Why would I talk about my car on my business website?
Because, quite simply, it is the coolest, greatest, smartest car I have ever owned, driven, or ridden in and I feel like I need to tell you about it. The sticker on this hybrid vehicle said it gets 45 on the highway and 60 in the city. In real-world conditions I find it's more like 40/50, which is still pretty fantastic.
I only have to fill up twice a month, and when I do it only costs $30 maximum. As gas prices go up, I am satisfied knowing I am paying at least half or less what everybody else is paying per month.
The only amenity it doesn't have that I wish it had is a sunroof. It has power everything save the seats, keyless remote entry (I rarely have to take the key out of my pocket), CD player and mp3 audio jack, 6-speaker audio, cruise control, and a rear back-up camera which is great when parallel parking.
You would have to pay me to drive anything other than a hybrid. It's likely that my next car will be another Prius.
The gorgeous photo I use on my business cards and this site was taken by Darkline Design with a macro lens.
